Jackson now a Bicycle Friendly Community
JACKSON — Jackson is Minnesota’s newest community to be recognized as a Bicycle Friendly Community (BFC) by the League of American Bicyclists (LAB). Minnesota, the second most bicycle-friendly state in the U.S., now boasts 22 BFCs.
"Working on the Bike Friendly Community application with the Jackson County Friends of the Trails Committee was a great experience,” said Luke Ewald, of Community Wellness Partners, Des Moines Valley Health and Human Services. “The trail committee looked at the application as a tool to help identify ways to get bikers from point A to point B in the community.”
The bronze BFC award recognizes Jackson’s commitment to improving conditions for bicycling through investment in bicycling promotion, education programs, infrastructure and pro-bicycling policies.
